News from Lenzerheide

The latest information from the Swiss federal government shows a light at the end of the tunnel. The measures taken in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic are being gradually eased and - if all goes well - will allow the first tourists to visit Lenzerheide again as early as June.

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide will not take place as planned. After the Swiss government extended the ban on events until the end of August 2020, it is clear that the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide cannot take place from 14 to 16 August 2020 as planned. Nevertheless, the organisers are still in close contact with the UCI and various partners and authorities in order to look for a possible postponement in autumn 2020. A final decision should be available at the end of May.

From 13 to 18 March 2022, the Airline World Ski Championships will return to Lenzerheide after 19 years. The World Ski Championships, where only employees of airlines compete against each other, will take place in Lenzerheide for the second time since 2003.

The IBU Youth & Junior World Championships Biathlon 2020 in the holiday region Lenzerheide have come to an end. The Swiss team scored three medals as well as several top rankings in the categories youth and junior. The organizers are after all very happy about the course of the event and thank all the involved for their effort.

The time has come: The IBU Youth & Junior World Championships Biathlon 2020 are about to begin. On Friday 24th of January 2020, the first training session will start at Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide in Lantsch/Lenz. On Saturday 25th of January 2020 the opening ceremony will take place at Kurhaus Lenzerheide. The competition will start on Sunday 26th of January and will last until the 2nd of February 2020. The organizers are looking forward to a high class biathlon festival.
