Sponsorship for the 2025 Biathlon World Championships established

In November 2020, Swiss-Ski together with Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide AG was awarded the contract to host the IBU Biathlon World Championships 2025. Now, with the establishment of the World Championships sponsorship, another milestone has been reached on the way to the title bouts in three years.

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, representatives of the municipalities of Lantsch/Lenz and Vaz/Obervaz, Lenzerheide Marketing and Support AG, the Lantsch/Lenz Tourism Association, Swiss-Ski, Biathlon Arena Lenzerheide AG, Swiss-Ski World Championships AG and Swiss-Ski World Cup Marketing AG founded the IBU Biathlon World Championships 2025 Lenzerheide Association and elected the association's board (including president).

The broad-based association will be responsible for the Biathlon World Championships 2025 project with immediate effect. Under the board, an executive management and an organizing committee will be entrusted with the planning and implementation of the title bouts 2025 and all IBU competitions in the run-up. This includes the European Biathlon Championships at the beginning of 2023 and the Biathlon World Cup at the end of 2023 in the Roland Arena.

Bruno Fläcklin, member of the management of Lenzerheide Marketing und Support AG and thus representative of the vacation region Lenzerheide, is pleased about this step: «The foundation of the association is a milestone for the biathlon sport and the vacation region Lenzerheide. We are looking forward to organizing another sports highlight in Graubünden together with Swiss-Ski.»

The 2025 Biathlon World Championships are receiving broad support from the local authorities and associations - on the one hand from Lenzerheide Marketing und Support AG (Lenzerheide Holiday Region), the municipalities of Vaz/Obervaz and Lantsch/Lenz, and also from the canton of Graubünden.
